Eh Roy has been strategically slithering into the Canadian Hip Hop scene since 2013. Slowly revealing himself through his brilliant fusion of genres, and no rules approach to beat-making and instrumental design; Eh Roy is finally prepared to take the scene by storm, fully revealing himself in his debut lyrical release entitled “Holy Wizard”.

Eh Roy has already earned much acclaim and established notoriety with his unique approach to Hip Hop production. His style is undeniably fresh, and his approach to sound design is nothing short of spectacular. Showcasing his limitless talent, this multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer/songwriter is certainly positioned to set new standards and raise expectations within the independent Hip Hop scene.

The irresistibly catchy, substance filled “Holy Wizard” is nearing launch with its June 16th , 2017 release date right around the corner. It is impressive to note that every song on this release were written, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered by Eh Roy himself. “Holy Wizard” will be the first official release by Eh Roy to feature lyrics.

ALBUM REVIEW: EH ROY’S “HOLY WIZARD”
WE RECENTLY HAD THE PLEASURE OF SPINNING UPCOMING PROGRESSIVE ROCK INSPIRED, FRESH HIP HOP SENSATION EH ROY’S DEBUT LYRICAL ALBUM “HOLY WIZARD”.
Upon listening to the explosive intro track “Civil Engineering”, it became undeniably evident that Eh Roy is truly something special. Honestly, I don’t think it would be premature or outrageous to suggest that Eh Roy just might be near the summit of the top lyricists I have personally heard recently in the independent Hip Hop genre.
​
One of Eh Roy most distinguishing qualities as a rapper is his ability to spit venom that has the impact much like that of a celebrated slam poet. Each thoughtful lyrical phrasing and clever word jumbling carries a hidden punch and remarkable depth that is not often found in newer Hip Hop releases.
​
While other notorious slam poets, such as B.Dolan, are tasked with focusing the listener by removing all musical distraction with pure spoken word records to show off their genius; Eh Roy is able to effortlessly blend sophistication and flow with masterfully crafted sonic soundscapes. Add some quirky, yet infectious beats and brilliant song sequencing and structuring to the mix and you have an irresistible fusion of catchy music oozing with substance.

“Holy Wizard”is one of those increasingly rare transcendent albums that doesn’t abide by the typical genre limitations and standards. Regardless of your specific musical tastes, regardless of any bias or animosity that you may have against the hip-hop or spoken word genres; the sheer uniqueness and thoughtfulness of Eh Roy’s debut lyrical album will inspire and ignite applause and appreciation out of even the most reluctant listeners.

It’s pretty damn refreshing to hear somebody so incredibly versatile and talented behind the mic (and production). Shying away from the typical clichés of both of the genres that he borrows inspiration from, Eh Roy has a remarkably unique style and sound which he maintains throughout the album. While Eh Roy certainly pays homage to the great hip-hop standards; he frequently veers away the genre’s increasingly tired tendencies, Making the listening experience feel entirely new and unpredictable.

This is an album that you simply shouldn’t miss! I highly suspect that this debut release has enough fuel to propel Eh Roy into cemented notoriety and acclaim.
